Paco Meralgo is a Barcelona classic for tapas, always lively, popular with locals and full of energy. Sitting at the bar with a vermouth or beer is probably the best way to experience it.
It always seems to be full of locals, and the bar is where we like to sit. The food is consistently good and exactly what you want from a traditional tapas spot. It feels more like a place for vermouth or beer than for serious wine drinking, although the wine selection is still reasonably respectable. A very reliable choice when you want classic tapas without too much ceremony.
