Cocina Hermanos Torres — Restaurant Review in Barcelona

Hermanos Torres is one of the coolest fine-dining restaurants we have ever visited, with a spectacular open kitchen at the center, relaxed but highly professional service and truly memorable food. It is undeniably expensive, but for a special occasion the combination of atmosphere, creativity and execution makes it a remarkable experience.

The dining room is built around a huge open kitchen in the middle, staffed by a professional but refreshingly laid-back team, sneakers included. The food was outstanding, ranging from seemingly simple but unforgettable dishes like raw squid in cold chicken broth to plates that looked more like modern art than something you were supposed to eat. The whole evening felt highly polished without becoming stiff, and the restaurant manages to make three-Michelin-star dining feel surprisingly relaxed. It is, however, seriously expensive, and bringing children can make the bill even more painful — our child’s suckling pig with French fries cost €120, which may be the most expensive children’s dish we have ever ordered. Go for an unforgettable fine-dining experience, but unless your children are equally committed to haute cuisine, leave them at home.

We went during a dry month and unfortunately did not check out the wine list.
