Berbena — Restaurant Review in Barcelona
Berbena is one of our Barcelona favourites: a small, lively restaurant serving creative, well-executed food at prices that still feel like a bargain. Add one of the best and most interesting wine lists in town and it is easy to understand why getting a reservation can be difficult.
The atmosphere is very cool and the dishes are innovative. Occasionally the sauces can feel a little too dominant, but overall the concept works extremely well and we have always had a great night here. Be aware that tables are booked twice each evening, so we prefer the later seating rather than knowing that the table will be needed again after two hours. The wine list is one of the best in town, ranging from affordable bottles to rare finds such as Selosse Champagne or Coche-Dury white Burgundy, generally at remarkably fair prices. It is deservedly difficult to book and easily one of the places we return to most often.
